Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item.
Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more test characteristics.
Sampling for examination. Sampling for examination shall be conducted in accordance with MIL-STD-105, with an AQL of 4.0 (percent defective) and an inspection level of II. The unit of product for examination purposes shall be one overbed table as specified in this description.
Defects
Any component part is missing.
Any table component is fractured, split, punctured, dented, bowed, malformed, or otherwise impaired.
Any table part is loose, or not in proper alignment.
Plastic sheet is delaminated from tabletop.
Elevating mechanism binds; does not operate freely.
Table does not have a minimum of four casters.
Casters do not turn or roll freely, smoothly, and quietly.
Tabletop is not adjustable within specified range.
Exposed metal edges of table are not free of burrs and sharp edges.
Open ends of tubing are not closed.
Weld joints do not blend into the adjacent metal in gradual, smooth curves.
Welds are not continuous with no visible voids, pinholes, or cracks.
