Drawings. The drawings forming a part of this commercial item description are not production drawings. Drawings established limitations and control design and configuration. The supplier shall select dimensions and tolerances within the limitations prescribed on the drawings to provide a product with proper design, configurations, and function. No deviation from the dimensional limitations prescribed on the drawings is permissible without prior approval of the contracting officer.
Finish
Operative ends. The operative ends (blades) of the trimmers, including faces of beveled portion forming sharpened edges, shall have a fine, honed finish. The trimmer blades shall have sharp cutting (trimming) edges and shall be free of defects, such as rounded edges, coarse grind marks, cracks, burrs, feathers, and deep pits when examined under magnification, as specified herein.
Handles and shanks. The handles shall be straight and flat. The handles and shanks of the trimmers shall have a bright polished finish. The handles shall have fillet or notch type serrations on seven faces and shall have one smooth face for identification marking.
Corrosion-resistance. The trimmers shall meet the copper sulfate and the boil requirements as specified herein.
