The diameter of the spindle hole for untapered holes shall be 1/4 ± 1/64 inch. The diameter of the spindle hole or tapered holes shall be 1/4 ± 1/64 at the small end of taper and 9/32 ± 1/64 -0 inch at the tapered end. The 9/32 inch diameter is obtained using a 14.5 degree countersink. Center block and spindle hole shall have a smooth finish. The brushes shall conform to the dimensional requirements in Table II for applicable size number.

Brush fiber for sizes 12, 20, 23, and 25 shall be stiff hog bristle or horsetail hair, undyed, natural black. Brush fiber for size 26 shall be soft goat hair, white in color.
Workmanship. The rotary wheel fiber brushes shall be free from defects which detract from their appearance or impair their serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). Each brush, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Quality Assurance Provisions.
Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified in the contact or purchase order, the contractor may use his own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements.
