COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION
BRUSH, FIBER, ROTARY WHEEL (Dental)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description in preference to Interim Federal Specification CG-B-007508.
This commercial item description covers rotary wheel fiber brushes used with a dental lathe suitable for cleaning and polishing prosthetic appliances.
The brushes shall be furnished in the following size numbers, as specified:
12, 20, 23, 25, 26
Salient characteristics:
Style and design of brushes shall be as shown in figure 1. Brushes shall have a center block fabricated of a suitably seasoned hardwood. The spindle holes of the center block shall be centered and shall be either tapered or straight so as to fit standard lathe spindle chucks. The fibers of the brushes shall be securely staple-set or wire-drawn with brass or other rust resistant brush wire and shall completely fill each hole. The holes for mounting the fibers shall be evenly spaced around the periphery of the center block. The brushes shall conform to the construction requirements in Table I for applicable size number.
