BAND, MATRIX, DENTAL (Contoured)

This commercial item description covers pre-formed matrix bands, having the following salient characteristics:

Shall be pre-formed matrix band to support dental restorative materials, with band surfaces conforming to the shape of the tooth, (see figure 1). The band shall be suitable for use with 6520-00-552-3150 Retainer, Matrix, Dental, Contra-Angle, Tofflemire, Adult Size and 6520-00-985-7123, Retainer, Matrix, Dental, Universal, Straight, Tofflemire. The pre-formed band shall be suitable for producing proximal contour simulating natural tooth curvatures. The finished band contact area shall be in the top third of the band contour. The band contact area shall be in the top third of the band contour. The contoured portion shall be symmetrical in configuration and shall be centered in the long axis of the band. The band shall be fabricated from .0020 ± .0002 inch, 1/4 hard, austenitic, corrosion-resisting steel, AISI type 304, having a minimum tensile strength of 120,000 psi. The band shall have a commercial 2B, or better, finish. The band shall be cleanly trimmed, smoothly finished, and shall be tumbled to provide smooth, peripheral edges. The finish of the band shall be uniform and free of burrs, sharp edges, pit marks, cracks, wrinkles, folds, tears, or other imperfections. The band shall comply with the boil test requirements of ANSI/ADA Specification No.29.
Workmanship. The band shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Package (PG). One package containing 24 bands, as specified constitutes one unit.
