MATRIX SET, DENTAL (Cervical)
The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description.
This commercial item description covers an assortment of plastic-covered aluminum cervical matrices suitable for use in dental restorative procedures.
Salient characteristics:
The matrix set shall be an assortment of plastic-covered aluminum cervical matrices suitable for use on anterior and bicuspid teeth in dental restorative procedures.
Materials. The matrices shall be fabricated of the following:
Aluminum – 99.0% minimum.
Iron – 0.6% maximum.
Silicon – 0.2% maximum.
The matrices shall be coated on both sides with a suitable polyester resin. The convex surface shall be coated with a tooth colored polyester resin and the concave surface shall be coated with a clear polyester resin and the concave surface shall be coated with a clear polyester resin.
The matrices shall be suitable for burnishing to teeth.
Dimensions and design/
The matrices shall be preformed with a convex curvature so as to generally conform to the cervical anatomy of the teeth and shall be readily adaptable by burnishing to the specific cervical anatomy of the tooth to be restored. Matrices shall be furnished in the sizes as specified in Figure 1.
